Overview

When a Domestic Transhipment is approved, TSW will send out two notifications, one to the submitter and one to the Customs Controlled Area [CCA] handling the goods, who will receive an email with a PDF containing the goods approved for release for domestic transhipment.

Similar to response notifications for submitters coming through B2B to SpeEDI with the result of a declaration, CCA notifications can instead be sent to SpeEDI as a B2B notification for digital authorisation of goods movements (and, with the addition of webhook functionality, automated forwarding to a chosen destination for record such as your ERP system).

The result of this is that you are able to automate the communication of goods release for better, more efficient digital management.

It's important to note, though, that TSW can only send to one [email] or the other [SpeEDI] and not both, so you will no longer receive a PDF format document with release information, but this can also manually be sourced from the TSW website as the need arises.

Additionally all CCA notifications will be forwarded to SpeEDI and not just those sent from SpeEDI where both the submitter and CCA operate from the same account, so if other SpeEDI customers or manual TSW website users pass their goods through your CCA, then these notifications will also come to SpeEDI, unlinked, but forwardable to your internal system endpoint.

Functions

If notifications are changed to SpeEDI, CCA releases will start showing up in two main locations on SpeEDI, as well as opening the ability to forward these notifications to an endpoint of your choosing via a webhook.

On a Consignment

If your SpeEDI account is both a submitter AND a CCA, then the responses will automatically link the release to the related consignment under the Goods Release tab and you can click this link to view deeper information:

On the Recent Release Notifications page

For all releases and bill search, you can see these in Shipments > Options > Recent Release Notifications

Which gives a single interface to view all current release items, their status and the ability to search for a bill number for quick reference when collecting goods.

From here you can also export as a CSV (if not using webhooks for data transmission) and view the status of the releases and webhooks.

Deployment

This assumes you have the CCA loaded against your Registration codes under "Customs Bondstore Premises" code type

Deployment is quite straight forward, NZ Customs must update the notification type for your CCA to B2B and point them at SpeEDI in the back end. And it is recommended to request the change to TSW support to be done by them to point to SpeEDI.

You are able to update the notification type using the TSW website, but will see a notice on the right side advising to alert TSW support with your change, potentially resulting in some notifications ending up in limbo between the time it takes for the change to be made, and for TSW to make the back end change, hence the recommendation requesting that TSW does the full task.

Additionally, SpeEDI Support will need to activate notification receipt on your Cargo account, this can be done at any time (but should be done before the Customs request, as any releases received prior will not be assigned to your account).

If SpeEDI is expecting the releases, then notifications will automatically start loading into the UI in the locations noted above once TSW has made the change.

Troubleshooting

I have changed my CCA and releases are no longer being received by SpeEDI

Notifications will automatically be assigned to email by TSW, please contact TSW support and request they change the CCA notifications to be B2B and sent to SpeEDI. Contact SpeEDI Support if they are confused or advise notifications are already configured.

Please ensure both SpeEDI Support were notified of the change (we need to make a change on the back end to expect them) and that you have the Registration Code "Customs Bondstore Premises" loaded with the CCA code.
